Troubles in the Neutral Zone?

The Romulan Star Empire faces an existential threat as a supernova looms over Romulus and Remus, their key inhabited worlds. This crisis is deepened by the loss of the anticipated Federation Fleet, previously under construction at the Mars shipyards, which fell victim to a catastrophic Android Uprising. The subsequent refusal of the Federation to deploy a second fleet, despite Admiral Jean Luc Picard’s vehement protests and resignation, has plunged the Empire into a desperate search for alternatives to prevent the impending disaster.

Amidst this backdrop, tensions have flared between the Romulan Star Empire and the United Federation of Planets, reaching unprecedented lows. The crux of the issue lies in the capture and misuse of a Romulan T’liss Class starship to attack Klingon vessels, an act Romulus attributes to Federation-backed terrorism. The evidence, pointing to a Federation Saladin Class starship’s involvement, remains inconclusive due to obscured hull markings and a deactivated transponder, casting a veil of suspicion and ambiguity over the Federation’s role.

Admiral Lance Thomas of Solas Tempus voiced his concern, stating, “The attack on the Romulan vessel is completely unacceptable, especially during a time of crisis for the Romulan people. We are working with the Romulan government to track down the perpetrators.” This sentiment highlights the urgent need for diplomatic efforts and cooperation to address the multifaceted challenges facing the region.

Pushing the Investigation

We are looking for 2-4 players to participate in a 2-3 hour long session that will be scheduled in about 2-3 weeks from now, to allow me time to finish with the semester. We will be playing off of non-combat areas of mental illness, classic horror concepts, and a much darker universe than we’ve been going with before.

So the introductory thread for the Angelic Sins setting was supposed to have been over and done with years ago. However, we have been having trouble getting players to consistently want to participate. We’ve tried to do it on the forum and such since times don’t like to add up so people can do things. However, this is a plot that I’d like to finish. At this time, I’ve put out a call for players to volunteer for an as-yet-unscheduled event in Angelic Sins.

We are looking for 2-4 players to participate in a 2-3 hour long session that will be scheduled in about 2-3 weeks from now, to allow me time to finish with the semester. We will be playing off of non-combat areas of mental illness, classic horror concepts, and a much darker universe than we’ve been going with before.

If all participants are able, we can arrange for the session to last longer, but right now I’m looking at doing several short sessions that deal specifically with this in an episodic kind of way. Rather than trying pack an TV style episode of content into the game, these will focus on one or maybe two concepts important to the whole plot, closer to a small MMORPG Quest style of episode.

If anyone knows any players who may which to participate who may not be on the server, please invite them and see if we can build a following.

Scouts Requested

The recent loss of contact on the other side of the Grtul Gate and the recent loss of contact with the Severed Grace into a large anomaly has prompted the need to investigate further.  At this time Vice Admiral Timol of SPECCOM is requested contractors to volunteer to investigate these two occurrences.  Please send a message to the Vice Admiral for deployment information and compensation information.

Occult Serial Killer At Large?

At 1:56 am, On the seventeenth of September, a 911 call was sent through from Bravenstore apartment complex. A message was left by an untraceable voice.

“If you owe a Debt, you best pay up soon. Or else you’ll regret it.”

After this message, the apartment buildings were put on lockdown, and police arrived at the scene.  Inside one of the apartment buildings, the adult residents were found dead.  The mother was completely dismembered, while the father had been stabbed multiple times, and the children just barely roughed up. Since the mother and father were DOA, the children were transferred to the northwestern memorial hospital. Authorities have been tight lipped about their investigation, however, sources close to the investigation have said, on condition of anonymity, that there are no leads in the case.

Multiple Killings Challenge Police

In an terrifyingly related story, nearly twenty minute’s later, another call was received half a mile away, when over twenty four people had been beheaded by what seems to be a metal blade. In a third incident, there is rumor of a graphic video of the incident in police hands, sources say the video was given to the police by a man who may have been there at the time.  No official response to inquiries has been made.  Local police are shaken by the latest attacks.  Sources within the police have given an account of the as-yet unreleased video:

“It was utterly terrifying, a hooded figure was talking with a boy in the middle of a crowd, when people began to take notice. The car the man sits in has been stuck in traffic, and recording since the figure started speaking weird words. She seems to be speaking to someone within the area, but they can’t be seen or heard, within the span of a split second the scythe wraps around his neck. She begins to point out the names of those recording, with the word’s ‘I know who all of you are, and I will take you out.’ After this, the camera censored out, as the scythe slings around, and cuts the head’s off of every single person in one swift movement.  I’ve never seen anything like it before in my life, and I don’t want to see it again.  I fear for the boy she had in her grasp at the time the video cut out.  The woman has a striking appearance unique, really long white hair.”

Prioritize Recovery of Missing Child

The chief of police has issued a statement putting their highest priority on the identification and recovery of the missing child and several religious leaders in the area are urging their constituents to come forward with any and all information immediately.  Police officials have issued an AMBER alert for the unknown child in the video, but there are scant details to go on.  The mayor has issued a press release urging residents to stay calm and has enlisted the help of federal law enforcement, the FBI has set up at their field office and profilers are reportedly on their way to provide assistance to the police.  However, their job is going to be difficult as five more bodies have also dropped, the official statement is that the killings are unrelated to the others, however, a source within the FBI investigation confirms that they believe it is the same perpetrator.

Official buildings are on high alert and the police have increased patrols throughout the city.  The FBI has opened a tip line and issued a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the unknown individual and recovery of the child.  Anyone with information on the murders or the whereabouts of the unknown child should call their local police department immediately or the FBI tip line at 555-812-2754.

Council Convened for Ongoing Murders

The Vampire Council of the city has convened a session to discuss the ongoing threat to the city, with an increasing number of murders plaguing the city with clearly supernatural origins. The primary focus is on the set of unsolved serial murders going on with the city, as we previously reported no supernatural groups have been found responsible for the deaths nor as a cause been found. The general cause of the murders vary with every strike, but now a total of 22 murders have taken place, this number is more than doubled from the previously thought of 10 murders. Investigators have found a 2nd death corresponding to each murder, the death coming from severe brain damage. Autopsy has provided the cause of death but not how it happened, there are a number of victims in hospitals all over the city with similar brain damage, though less severe indicating a potentially greater threat. All the victims so far have been human with no link between them.

The Council has put forth a general call for investigators to descend upon the city with a substantial cash reward for those who can help solve the case and even resolve the problem entirely. While the Out of Aces Detective Agency has already thrown their hat in the ring, it is clear this could be a dangerous assignment – and they do not have exclusive rights to the case. Instead, the council has demanded that any investigators share information. The downside is failure may result in increasingly lavish punishments from the council, those who do not deliver on their word often end up dead.

Further, those with knowledge of the current investigation have told of a mysterious signal coming in over shortwave channels, someone who has been tracking the case up until this point. Details on that are sketchy but if that is indeed true it could point to a larger conspiracy on the horizon for the city. The Council itself has said nothing further other than the general call to investigate the case and seek a resolution.

Nimbus XO Cleared by Review Board

The Civilian Review Board cleared Nimbus Station Executive Officer Mike-037 of all potential conflicts of interest with Solas Tempus or the Serenity Concord. The press release today heavily relied upon the investigation conducted by Special Agent Aadila Reza who has been assigned with several tasks of investigating recent issues presumed to be going on with the station. Her report cited that further psychological evaluations were recommended as a precaution, but no more than those recommended for all Temporal Operatives. The Reza further commented that according to the 8th Guarantee the officer could not be prosecuted, which made her investigation a simple matter of digging through available information and presenting with her opinion as a trained investigator on whether or not future resources should be spent on this issue. Fleet Admiral Thomas went on record as saying that the station XO has his total confidence on his ability to do his duties effectively but that he was pleased with the outcome. This revelation comes as a much needed balm to the recent trouble on the station, particularly with John and Takumi Angelos.

At this time Governor Maddox has not been available to comment. It is clear that Nimbus Station and its people are not out of the woods yet and still face many questions. The government prosecutor is said to be considering a maximum penalty in the case of Takumi Angelos should he be found guilty. An attorney has been appointed to defend the young man and has requested a formal psychological evaluation on the basis that his father claims the child has psychological problems that need to be managed rather than punished.

Disrespecting the Dead

Another person under investigation, Tal Ravis is again in the news after a video has surfaced from an anonymous source of him urinating on a dead member of the group only known as Onyx. Other sources have confirmed that this did actually occur, though it is unclear why he would take such an action.

We contacted Mr. Ravis for comment, when asked about the incident he responded:

“When operating for sustained periods of time in non-linear, asymmetric environments far from a host station or vessel, access to dedicated hygenic facilities is greatly limited or denied outright. Field experience from years of operating in the fringes of inhabited space has allowed us to come up with an adequate solution; we find that Onyx agents make for acceptable outhouse substitutes.”

While the response is direct and honest it is also disturbing, showing an irreverence to the death of a living being. Few government agencies have commented yet given the nature of the other investigations that have gone on, it does point directly to the idea that Mr. Ravis is potentially unstable.

Angelos Son Arrested

Takumi Angelos, son of John Angelos, has been arrested by Special Agent Aadila Reza on charges of attempted sexual assault. While Ms. Reza declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, John Angelos has been at the center of a rather disturbing accusation, where he is accused of having unlawful sexual relations with his adoptive daughter who is not yet of legal age of consent within the Concord. If the charges turn out to be true against the younger Angelos it could be used by the prosecution to paint a potential pattern of behavior for the family. Rumors have circulated for some time that Takumi Angelos is a bit of a wild-child having multiple partners, sometimes even on the same night. While that is not illegal and so far no other allegations of wrong-doing have surfaced it is not out of the range of possibility that the young man be facing more charges in the aftermath of one person willing to stand up for themselves.

Governor Maddox and Senator Murrika have both released a joint statement condemning the actions of Takumi Angelos and calling on the Civilian Oversight Board to exercise their right to order that John Angelos be removed from active duty. Their chief concern, according to the statement, is that he is in a direct conflict of interest. It is also of interest that Tobirama Angelos is currently in holding pending charges of assault against Jyn which could lead some to conclude that a strong tradition of violence against others runs through the family. Investigators will no doubt wish to talk to Itza Angelos next, where they may expect to find more evidence of a further pattern of violence.

The Governor’s office has also confirmed that it is considering charges of obstruction of justice against John Angelos who apparently attempted to convince SA Reza to release his son, on the suggestion that he would give up and allow himself to go to prison. While some may see that as a confession, he did not actually admit to wrong doing. In a partial copy of a private report sent by the Special Agent to the Governor’s office it states that John Angelos believes his son to be innocent on the grounds that it is SA Reza’s fault for expecting the young man to control himself. Such a sentiment has prompted serious concern among many levels of the government. It is expected that Fleet Admiral Thomas himself will have to respond to this incident with a stronger stance or risk seriously alienating his superiors who could, in theory, remove him from command as he personally brought John Angelos into the organization where he was appointed as chief of security of Nimbus Station. There are already calls from senators to consider removing him from command, which so far the Admiral has been able to rebuff based on his years of service.

A Questionable Pattern Evolving?

A questionable pattern is starting to become clearer as new documents are against released to the public. The source of these documents appears to be the same as the source that released the documents dealing with the Spartans and still remains anonymous. Reading the documents makes it clear that there may be more of a story to tell with regard to the universe which they came from.

The Spartan documents make mention of a group called the Covenant, for which we know very little with the exception that the group which commissioned the Spartan’s to be made was in some kind of conflict with them. This fresh set of documents tells of the Covenant committing utter acts of atrocity against the human races, going so far as to “glass” planets, a process which involves destroying all life on a planet through orbital bombardment with high energy plasma weapons. Weapons which, incidentally, the newly arrived vessel Severed Grace has. Questions have been raised in the highest levels of government, questions that the Department of Military Actions and Services has few answers to. Largely the department has left the running of the Schatten System to Solas Tempus, as the primary facilities in the system are military in nature – the organization has adopted a policy of allowing newly arrived vessels and people to promise they will abide by the local laws to avoid being incarcerated to sent back.

Sending a newly arrived person or vessel back can take months as the Janus Project can take a significant amount of time to find the originating reality to return a new arrival to. However, if Solas Tempus is willing to allow such dangerous individuals as the Spartan’s and a Covenant battle cruiser to remain in the system unchecked with with an obvious conflict between those two sides there is a serious question to be made on whether or not Solas Tempus is competent to manage such things, at least under their current leadership.

Rebel Alliance Revealed!

Documents have been obtained by our reporters that the Rebel Alliance has had similar dealings as the Spartans. Detailed information from the X-Wing of Alema on pervious missions tells a rather extensive story of the Rebel Alliance having a complete and total disregard for the the lives of civilians. In one mission to a planet which is not named, the Rebel Alliance slaughtered 10,000 or more civilians to destroy the Imperial outpost. Another mission killed some 1,600 people, without giving the option for surrender.

In the first completely actionable information found is a detailed report about a mission involving a significant amount of civilian casualties. The pilot, Alema, is reported as being the cause of 1,045 civilian deaths when her fighters caused extensive damage crushing an entire village in a rock slide when she accidentally fire a torpedo into a rock face. Further, the Rebel Alliance command is noted to know that a future mission will have a high likelihood of civilian casualties.

Other Investigations Painting a Picture

Two other investigations also paint an additionally disturbing image of how things are run in the system; that of Tal Ravis and of John Angelos, both of which have active investigations into their conduct with similar subject matter. In the case of Security Chief Angelos the question has been raised about his relationship with a young 16 year old resident of the station and while STS has declined to release her name to the press for obvious reasons this runs parallel with the potential relationship being had by Mr. Ravis and a new arrival who – by all accounts – is even younger. Both of these add to a dangerous image of Fleet Admiral Thomas and his second, Admiral D’Amico, paying little attention to civilians which rely on them for protection.

Station Structure Command Hindered

New reports have surfaced about a confrontation between Nimbus Station Executive Officer Mike-037 and several of his subordinates. The confrontation occurred in the fighter bay of Nimbus, starting out as a heated disagreement between two groups of enlisted personnel. The argument itself was nothing to write home about, a simple disagreement over the exchange of shifts. However, this disagreement became even more heated and more critical when the XO overheard the disagreement and stepped in to investigate.

Mike-037 inserted himself to calm things down and ended up making them worse. The two sides of the argument joined forces grilling him with questions about the released documents. What would have normally been an issue where several crew would have likely disengaged and calmed down at the sight of a superior turned into a heated stand-off between the group of enlisted man and the station’s second in command. It becomes clear from the video linked below, the crew demonstrate a complete lack of respect for the Lt. Commander.

One thing, however, is crystal clear. Lt. Commander Mike-037 is unflappable during the confrontation, he maintains a clearly authoritative stance and does not get angry in what must have been an entirely frustrating situation. Whether one is to believe the documents accusations the XO was perfectly willing to take the focus and frustration of the group and let it roll off his back and that should be a strong note about his character.

Our own investigation into the actions of Nimbus Station XO Mike-037 have uncovered a conversation told to us by medical staff on condition of anonymity, for fear of reprisal. The conversation took place in the Nimbus Station Sickbay on May 21st. At the time a new Spartan had just spliced in and been treated for multiple injuries. Mike himself admitted that he found it easier to kill aliens.

The pair also had a conversation about the potential for using the developing fan clubs against the system. Apparently the pair have had some degree of experience dealing with the manipulation of public opinions, mentioning being used for propaganda purposes. The entire issue is further complicated by the apparent unwillingness for Mike himself to speak to anyone about this issue, at least nowhere that is visible to the public.

Investigator Dispatched

The Department of Protection and Investigation (DPI) has sent investigators to Nimbus Station in order to determine the nature of the allegations and if there is any thing actionable to be done. A high level official within the department commented that the investigators may expand their investigation into other areas if they feel it is necessary to do to. This further highlights the other problems facing Solas Tempus and the political fight they are embroiled in right now.
